In the sumptuousness of classic Pashmina is a hand-woven shawl which begins its journey as a pure Pashm fibre coming all the way from the mountain ranges of Leh and makes its way into the hands of a skilled craftsman in Kashmir Valley. This artisan weaves these fibres into warps and wefts, giving it the form of a shawl.

  • This plain grey shawl is then passed onto another Kaarigar (artisan) who embroiders its borders in the doredaar pattern, with the legendary Sozni embroidery, a specialized type of needlework which uses intricate strokes of a needle to create elegant embellishments.

Plain Pashmina - a grand utterance of luxury and style is handspun deftly by Kashmiri womenfolk over a charkha, locally known as yinder, to form downy threads out of the meticulously acquired "soft gold" - Pashm fibre.
