Centuries-old designs that are characteristic of the Idu Mishmi tribe of Arunachal Pradesh, give a traditional touch to these contemporary-styled cushion covers that are handwoven by women artisans using skills handed down to them by their mothers and grandmothers before them.

  • Abstract diamond motif buttas are highlighted on the stole in naturally brown eri silk yarn. The stole ends are woven with eri silk yarn weft stripes

  • Eri Silk comes from the worm Samia cynthia ricini, found in North East of India and some parts of China and Japan.

  • The name Eri is derived from the Assamese word ‘era’, which means castor as the silkworm feeds on castor plants. The wooly silk is often referred to as the Ahimsa silk or the fabric of peace as the process does not involve the killing of the silk worm. Moths leave the cocoon as soon as it is ready to be spun.

  • Natural dyes or colourants derived from plants & other organic sources found locally are used. The embrace of this beautiful woven stole will add colour and glamour to your winter / summer closet, keeping you comfortable at the same time. Perfect gift for any occasion.
